Is there any need to process for trace anymore with stuff like DNA and fingerprints available? It is a lot of work and doesn't seem to be u sed much in court.

Suppose DNA and prints collected do not match database, without a live suspect to compare with you are out of luck. Trace fiber colors or materials left at scene may give a clue where to look for suspects based on witness info and nearby locations.
